  • Bobcat Athletics Puts 134 Student-Athletes on PBC Presidential Honor Roll

    AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 134 Georgia College student-athletes making the list, coming just two shy of the school-best 136 set last year. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2016-17 academic year.
  • GC Women’s Cross Country Takes Team GPA Award; Department Records 3.25 GPA

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Department of Athletics posted a 3.25 GPA for the 2016-17 academic year, eclipsing the 3.2-mark for the third-straight year. The Bobcat Women’s Cross Country team took team GPA honors in the Bobcat Athletic Department in one of the tightest races in recent memory.

The No. 7-seed Bobcats move to the tournament backdraw, while the No. 2-seed Pirates advance to the PBC Semifinals.

  • Bobcat Men's Tennis Earns No. 7-Seed in PBC Tournament

    AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) released the bracket for the 2017 PBC Men’s Tennis Championship Tournament, with Georgia College taking the No. 7-seed. The No. 7-seed Bobcats will be battling the Armstrong State University Pirates in their first match this weekend, which will begin Friday, April 21 at 1 p.m. The tournament will be held in Florence, South Carolina at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center at Francis Marion University. Should the Bobcats advance after their match against the Pirates, they will either face No. 3-seed Lander University or No. 6-seed USC Aiken. If the Bobcats continue, the next match will begin Saturday at 1 p.m. Other match-ups in the tournament are No. 1-seed Columbus State University versus No. 8-seed Young Harris College. Also on Friday, No. 4-seed University of North Georgia will be up against No.5-seed Flagler College. The Bobcats finished the regular season at 9-10 overall with a 3-7 mark in PBC play. The Armstrong State Pirates finished their regular season with a 16-6 overall with a 9-1 in conference play. The Bobcats and the Pirates met once during the season resulting in a 7-2 win for ASU. The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level. Kyle Kinsler (Suwanee) got his second win this year in the fifth spot as Pedro Ecenarro (Santiago de Compostela, Spain) snagged yet another strong victory in the second flight against a nationally-ranked opponent.

    TEMPE, Ariz. – After slamming through three nationally-ranked opponents and forcing two others into tiebreakers, Christian Graff (Lohmar, Germany) received his first career national ranking when the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and Oracle’s Collegiate Tennis Rankings were released Wednesday. He now sits at 36 in the nation.
