Georgia College Athletics Puts 96 on PBC Presidential Honor Roll
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 96 Georgia College student-athletes making the list. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2012-13 academic year.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Georgia College department of athletics finished in the top-100 of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings this season, taking 86th in postseason finishes among 255 NCAA Division II schools.

GC Men’s Tennis Finishes Season at NCAA Regionals, Loses to Armstrong 6-0
SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Georgia College men’s tennis team (19-7) finished off the season at the finals of the NCAA Southeast Regional Monday. The match finished in unusual fashion, with simultaneous match points on court one and three, giving Armstrong (24-1) a rare 6-0 victory.

Andreas and Wadstein Race to Finish Off Patriots, No. 4-Seed Bobcats Win 5-2
SAVANNAH, Ga. – With the Georgia College men’s tennis team (19-6) holding a 4-2 lead over Francis Marion University, senior No. 48 Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) and junior Andreas Ainalides (Heusenstamm, Germany) both stood within points of securing a singles victory. Ainalides would beat Wadstein to the punch, downing Gavin Davison by a final score of 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. Wadstein finished two points away from defeating No. 15 Alex Caspari for the second time this season.

GC Men’s Tennis Earns No. 4-Seed at NCAA Regional, Start Sunday
SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Georgia College men’s tennis team (18-6) earned a NCAA Regional bid for the seventh year in a row, being given the No. 4-seed in the Southeast Region. The Bobcats will start the regional Sunday, April 28 against the No. 5-seed Francis Marion University (15-8) who the Bobcats defeated earlier in the year by a score of 8-1.

INDIANAPOLIS – The regional seeding was announced Tuesday evening by the NCAA and the Georgia College men’s tennis team (18-6) earned a place in the Southeast Region. The Bobcats have now made the NCAA Regionals for the seventh consecutive year.

SUMTER, S.C. – The No. 4-seed Georgia College men’s tennis team (18-6) was back on the court less than 24-hours after their semifinal match, this time taking on No. 2-seed Lander University (15-3). Despite a big win in the top doubles spot, the Bobcats lost the overall match 5-2.

FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 4-seed Georgia College men’s tennis team (18-5) faced off against top-seed and top team in the country, the Armstrong Pirates (21-2) in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament semifinals Saturday and was upended 5-0.

FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 4-seed Georgia College men’s tennis team (18-4) came out on top after an evening of hard-fought tennis at the quarterfinals for the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Friday. The Bobcats faced off against Augusta State University (11-10) and took home the 5-2 victory.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The NCAA released its second round of Division II Tennis Region Rankings this week, with the Georgia College men’s (17-4) and women’s (14-9) tennis teams ranked top five in the Southeast, landing the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively.

FLORENCE, S.C. – The All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Teams for men’s tennis were announced Thursday evening at the PBC Banquet. Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) and Andreas Ainalides (Heusenstamm, Germany) were named to the Second Team, while Yannick Hass (Troisdorf, Germany) was chosen PBC Freshman of the Year.

INDIANAPOLIS - The most recent NCAA Regional Polls were released Wednesday and the Georgia College men’s tennis team (16-3, 6-2 PBC) was ranked No. 4 in the Southeast, behind only National No. 1 Armstrong, No. 7 Lander University and No. 8 Columbus State University.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Georgia College men’s tennis team (14-3) finished off their spring break trip with a match against Division I University of Missouri-Kansas City. The Bobcats swept the doubles matches on their way to a 5-2 victory and the third win in as many matches for men’s tennis during Spring Break.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Georgia College men’s tennis team (13-3) defeated the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez 8-1 Monday afternoon. The match featured three doubles groups that each played together for the first time this spring season.

ATLANTA – The No. 16 Georgia College men’s tennis team (1-0) opened the spring season on the road against Morehouse College (0-1) Friday afternoon, with the Bobcats sweeping the Maroon Tigers 9-0. The Bobcats did not lose a single set during the match.
