INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) released the Google Cloud Men's Basketball Academic All-District teams Thursday, with Georgia College sophomore Chapin Rierson (Calhoun) earning one of the spots on the list.

Rierson was one of six student-athletes chosen to the District 3 squad, and the only one from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC). The sophomore guard owns a 3.84 GPA in Accounting, and has played and started in every ballgame this year.

A long-distance marksman, Rierson averages 9.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest. He has 12 double-digit scoring games this season, including a career-best 22 in the win over then-No. 25 UNC Pembroke Jan. 12.

He is the third Academic All-District Honoree in GC Men's Basketball history, joining teammate Isaac Thomas in 2017-18, and Aaron Clark in 2007-08. Rierson now moves on to the Academic All-America ballot, with a release planned for March.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Division II and Academic All-America® programs.
