MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Men's Basketball team (0-1) had a tall order in their season opener Friday night, taking on No. 2 Queens University of Charlotte (1-0). The Royals were every bit as advertised, topping the Bobcats 89-53 on day one of the Bobcat Crossover Classic in the Centennial Center.

The Royals shot well at 48 percent (27-56) overall, but were especially tough from long range, hitting 16-for-31 (.516).

Georgia College had a pair of double-digit scorers as freshman Jordan Thomas (Conyers) netted 14 in his first collegiate contest, and sophomore Kohl Roberts (Atlanta) joined him with 12.

The Bobcats hung with Queens early, as Jordan Thomas made a pair of threes on their first three possessions. Georgia College then got stuck on six points for the next four minutes, as Queens got on a 10-0 run.

Jordan Thomas added four rebounds and a pair of steals to his line, going 4-for-6 from long range, accounting for half of the Bobcats' three pointers. Junior Isaac Thomas (Trion) aided the Bobcats with six rebounds, five assists and a pair of blocks.

Georgia College shot 31 percent (16-52) from the field, and were out-rebounded 47-26.

The loss evens the all-time record with Queens at 2-2, and also evens the season openers and home openers under head coach Mark Gainous at 2-2 as well.

The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, Nov. 11 at 3:30 p.m., bringing a close to the Bobcat Crossover Classic by taking on Emmanuel College.
