MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University basketball teams are both having very successful seasons thus far and are ahead of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) preseason expectations.
Mike Hoffman, sports information director at Indiana University at Pennsylvania (IUP), wanted to see how the basketball teams at IUP fared against Division-II schools across the country after seeing how successful his teams had started. Hoffman took the combined wins of the men's and women's basketball teams along with the losses to see the winning percentage.
Georgia College ranked No.7 on the list with a combined winning percentage of .816, including all games played up to Feb. 9. The men were 17-2, the women 14-5 for a combined 31-7.
Minnesota State University and Gannon University are tied in first place with a .872 winning mark. Northern Kentucky University, University of Central Oklahoma, Fort Lewis College and IUP are all above Georgia College.
