NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) recently released its Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars, with Georgia College Golf's Justin Connelly (McDonough, Georgia) earning the organization's top academic honor.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 78.0 in Division II and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
Connelly spent his final season of eligibility as a Bobcat after three for Division I Mercer University. He was second on the GC Golf squad with a 74.5 stroke average, and led the team with a pair of top-10 finishes.
The Bobcats get the season underway with a fall tournament schedule coming shortly.
