INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA released its second round of Division II Men's Golf Region Rankings Friday, April 14 with Georgia College coming in ninth. This ranking of course did not include the Bobcats' fourth-place finish at the recent PBC Championship Sunday.
The surging Bobcats have the ninth slot, fifth among Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools. Lander University takes the top slot with USC Aiken in fifth and Young Harris College in sixth. Flagler College comes one spot before the Bobcats.
Newberry College leads three South Atlantic Conference (SAC) members in second overall, joined by Lincoln Memorial University in third and Coker College in seventh. Limestone College is the top Conference Carolinas (CC) school in fourth place, joined by No. 10 Belmont Abbey College.
The final version of this poll is used to determine the seven at-large bids to the NCAA South/Southeast SuperRegional, beginning May 8. The region has three automatic bids, given to the tournament champions for the PBC, SAC and CC, and the remaining slots are filled by the final version of this poll.
The Bobcats now await the at-large selections to the NCAA SuperRegional round, the announcement due toward the end of the month. The tournament will play May 8-10 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
