MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The official first season of Peach Belt Conference (PBC) esports begins tonight, with Georgia College taking on Young Harris College at 8:30 p.m.
The PBC held its first League of Legends competition during the fall with a preseason schedule over five weeks. Seven conference schools participated; the league will add more teams for the regular-season competition. The Bobcats had a strong start, dropping just one of these exhibition matches.
The regular season will culminate with the first PBC Esports Championship Tournament in March.
Teams will compete online until the tournament, which will be held in-person. After facing the Mountain Lions, GC Esports takes on Georgia Southwestern Feb. 2, then Augusta University Feb. 9.
The schedule continues with Feb. 16 Homecoming Week action against USC Aiken, then taking on UNC Pembroke the following day. The Bobcats draw Francis Marion University Feb. 23 to close out the month.
March brings three more regular-season battles, against Lander University March 2, the University of North Georgia March 3 and Columbus State University March 9.
