MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Baseball team (12-9, 6-5 PBC) took down No. 4 University of North Georgia (16-7, 6-4 PBC) 4-3 Friday night at John Kurtz Field, the Bobcats getting their highest-ranked win of the season.

The Bobcats went ahead for good in the seventh, when Garrett Green (Bogart) lifted a sacrifice fly to right with the bases loaded.

Georgia College got lights-out relief from three different arms tonight, as Brad Spinner (Roswell), Colin LoCurto (Kennesaw) and Chris Rolick (Marietta) combined for 3 1/3 hitless innings, fanning five. Spinner got the win (2-2) after getting the final out of the seventh, while Rolick got the final two outs for his fourth save.

Designated hitter Will Hudgins (Dunwoody) homered for the second-straight game, curling a fly around the right field foul pole for the first two runs of the game in the second. After an insurance run in the fourth, the Nighthawks plated three to tie the game in the top of the fifth.

Heading to the bottom of the seventh, Cam Hill (Marietta) led with a walk, followed by a bunt single from Austin Holloway (Social Circle). After a walk and an out, Green lifted a fly to right to put the Bobcats in front.

Hudgins finished 2-for-4 with the two RBIs and a run. Shortstop Jayson Cook (Smyrna) also had two hits in four trips, scoring twice. Holloway also finished with a pair of singles.

The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, March 16 at 2 p.m. for game two of the series with UNG.
