TUCSON, Ariz. – The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper recently released its preseason honors for Division II, with members of Georgia College Baseball taking slots all over the list.
Reliever Bradly Cammack (Soperton, Georgia) was selected as a Southeast Region Preseason All-American. Rightfielder Wesley Wommack (Monroe, Georgia) was named a Southeast Region Player to Watch, and utility Will Hudgins (Dunwoody, Georgia) took a spot on the Southeast Region Newcomers to Watch list.
Cammack dazzled in 2018, his first season as a Bobcat. The rookie spun 85 innings, going 13-2 with a 2.54 ERA and 99 whiffs. The 13 victories set the school record for a single season at Georgia College. Cammack was named Rawlings/ABCA All-Region Second Team, as well as taking a spot on the All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) squad.
Wommack, the 2018 PBC Tournament MVP, hit .390 on the year with four home runs, 56 runs scored and 52 RBIs. Wommack was a D2CCA All-Region Second Team selection, and made his second appearance on the All-PBC team.
Hudgins is a transfer from Division I Georgia Southern University, getting 43 starts over the past two seasons.
The Bobcats begin the 2019 season Friday, Feb. 1 at 5 p.m. against Paine College at John Kurtz Field.
