ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) recently announced its All-Star squads, with Georgia College rising sophomore Cassius Young (Atlanta, Georgia) taking a spot on the East Team.
Young plays for the Oneonta Outlaws at third base. He's had a strong summer, hitting .286 with three home runs and a team-best 21 RBIs. His runs scored (21) is third on the squad, and he also leads the team in doubles with six. The Outlaws are 13-21, fifth in the East Division.
The rookie infielder saw action in 30 games for the Bobcats this season. He compiled 10 hits, 11 RBIs and 14 runs. He swatted his first collegiate home run in his first game, a two-run shot against Paine College as part of a 2-for-2 game with six RBIs.
The PGCBL All-Star Game is set for tonight at Dunn Field in Elmira, New York.
