TUCSON, Ariz. – The Georgia College Baseball team (43-10) and head coach Jason Eller sit atop the latest edition of the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Division II National Rankings. The Bobcats won the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament, catapulting them from No. 6 to No. 1 in one week.
This marks the first time since March 7, 2011 that the Bobcats are the nation's No. 1 team.
Three PBC schools are on the top-30 list, with Columbus State University at No. 8 and UNC Pembroke at No. 18. The Bobcats have qualified for the NCAA Southeast Regional again this season as the PBC Tournament champs, and five of the seven teams in the tournament are in the national rankings. Along with CSU and UNCP, the Bobcats will be with No. 2 North Greenville University and No. 13 Belmont Abbey College.
The No. 2-seed Bobcats begin the NCAA Southeast Regional Thursday, May 17 at 3:30 p.m. against No. 7-seed Lincoln Memorial University.
