Bobcat Runners Compete at Peachtree Road Race
ATLANTA – The Georgia College cross country program was well represented at the 2014 Peachtree Road Race July 4, as nine members of the Bobcat roster took to the course in Atlanta.
Freshman Tommy Templeman (Snellville, Ga.) led the way for the men, taking the 10K course in 34:00. Templeman finished 86th among 28,724 men in the race. Rising junior Paul McNeil (Dunwoody, Ga.) crossed the line 56 seconds later in 117th place.
The Bobcat women were led by Rachel Pasko (Jefferson, Ga.), as her 10K time of 44:26 put the rising junior in 210th place among the 28,832 runners. Whitney Sweet (Roswell, Ga.) finished in 46:01, nabbing 344th place.
Rising junior Michael Warrick (Marietta, Ga.) took 125th in 35:11, while Trevor Turner (Snellville, Ga.) added a 35:22 effort in 134th. James Ryden (Atlanta) ran in his hometown, finishing 139th in 35:36. Matt Sutton (Norcross, Ga.) posted a 36:10 finish in 175th, and Matt Tippins (Hoschton, Ga.) was 341st at 38:47.
The Bobcats get the 2014 season underway Friday, Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m., when the men host Armstrong State University in a dual race. The Bobcat women join in the fun Sept. 12 in the Bobcat Invitational, also on the West Campus Cross Country Course.
